Welcome Atlantis Cruisers!

Welcome to all Atlantis cruisers on board of the Copenhagen to Amsterdam Pride Cruise on the Holland America Line Eurodam. You will arrive at the Cruise Terminal on Saturday morning 7 August, the day of the famous Canal Parade. And how convenient .... the cruise terminal is right in the city center of Amsterdam.

Your program for the weekend: Canal Parade

When you go off board, the best thing to do is to walk towards the Prinsengracht, where the Canal Parade will start at 2 pm. The cruise terminal is located east of Central Station, while the Parade starts just on the other side of the train station (west of it).

It is only a 10 minutes walk from the terminal to the Prinsengracht. Just follow the harbour on your right hand side.

When arrived at the start of the canal, you can just walk along the Parade on the Prinsengracht towards the Amstel River. The river borders in front of the City Hall are always very crowded, but it is the best spot to watch the Parade. The Canal Parade finishes around 5 pm.

Next: the parties on Saturday night

As soon as the Canal Parade finished, head off to the Regulierswarsstraat for some outdoor partying. This is where all the big gays bars are located. The whole street is packed with people who dance on the tunes of DJ's and artists.

Later that night, several big parties are held throughout town: AIR Tony Moran by Rapido Events, introducing Tony Moran, WE Party, a Spanish circuit party or Bear Necessity for muscle bears and their admirers at Odeon Theater. Finally, early Sunday morning you can hit Beyond, the first Amsterdam edition of the London after party.

When you leave the Eurodam, you want to check in as soon as possible in a hotel nearby. Via Nighttours.com you can book a wide range of hotels right in the city center, with the Mövenpick hotel located right at the cruise terminal.

When you have checked in, you might want to explore some of the city. The celebrations are still on, with an outdoor Pride Closing Party near City Hall.

The main party on Sunday, and not to be missed, is Rapido, the biggest circuit party in town and famous throughout Europe. The party starts at 3 PM and goes on till very late.... Book your tickets early, because this party is always sold out way in advance, no tickets at the door.

The day after: Monday

After nearly two weeks of partying, the show is over. If you do not need to take the first plane back, and can spend some time in Amsterdam, just strawl along the famous canals, visit the Anne Frank House or a museum like the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum or the Amsterdam branch of the St. Petersburg Hermitage. Whatever you do, just enjoy Amsterdam.
