the bar was okey. nice bar people, only really small. and the music isnt that good because they play a lot of the same songs in one night

I travel a lot and always by myself.
Thanks to the bartenders I had a very good time in this bar. They made me feel very welcome and introduced me to some regular visitors. Thank Team Chez Rene for a graet stay in Amsterdam.

Finally a bar with friendly and fun bartenders.

Strange gay bar ...people mostly drunk and noisy.

While giving away hints of Dutch quaintness and what the Dutch insist on calling 'gezelligheid' on the outside, this new offering tot he Amsterdam Gay scene fails to deliver.
The moment you walk through the doors and enter this canal house overlooking the river Amsterdam takes it's name from, all of a sudden you’ll find yourself transported to a place which could be located in any recently newish urban development. God does this place lack atmosphere. The only thing making you aware that you are in the historical heart of the city is the strong smell of damp and maybe even mould. All in all, not a very good as first impressions go.
Although promising to be renovated, one can’t escape the impression that this renovation involved nothing more than two different colors of paint. Admittedly, the toilets have been upgraded but this has probably only happened to comply with building regulations.
For someone trying to open a ‘new’ bar, the owner would have done better if he had chosen to fully break with the past. The old bar, the broken tiles on the floor and even the old signs for the toilets show either a lack of interest or a need to open as soon as possible. The only thing new about this place is the name, with it giving us the impression the owner is an avid ‘Allo, Allo’ fan.
Although the staff is friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced, this does not make up for the lack of effort. This is yet another place in the Amstel area that plays the same old regurgitated Dutchie music lots of us have come to loathe. For God’s sake... ‘De Toppers. Again?!
If you enjoy spending your evening in a wasteland devoid of atmosphere wondering what that smell is, this is really the place for you. If this is not the case.... please, please, please take your money somewhere more worthwhile.

superr leuke kroeg , en vooral het personeel !! ook de eigenaresse is top!! tot snel , xxx
