Big gay bar in English / American style on the Reguliersdwarsstraat. One of the most popular and biggest gay bars in Amsterdam.

The bar attracts a very young crowd in the busy. Especially during happy hours at midnight it gets very busy.

On the ground floor is a bit a dance floor, where the DJ's play their happy pop and dance tunes.

The second floor has another bar (only open when it's very busy) and a glass smokers lounge. The bathrooms and coat check are located on the 3rd floor.

Music was ok. The bar was empty and I waited a long time for a drink. Obnoxious drunk couple there, bartenders ignored it.

I am not sure if I am writing this grievance at right place or not but today I am very hurt and feeling very sad with the experence in Soho in amsterdam and i decided to share with the Soho team as i feel you guys should know first before others.

Amsterdam is a city of open minded people, mixed culture and mixed race and I am proud of staying here. I am 30 years old indian, by profession software engineer, look decent and offcourse not a terroist. I am working very hard to contribute Netherlands econonmy with my best of knowledge and same time Netherlands is helping me to prosper my career and job and my need. I have come here with lots of hope and dreams. One of the dream is to live into a place where one person sees others not based on color or race but as a humen. I felt very happy that Amsterdam is a kind of place where people sees as a humen rather than color or race.

But the incident which took place twice in front of Soho bar amsterdam was very humilating and heart broking to me. on 29th novemer 2015, approxmiate 2.50 AM, 2 of my friends who were waiting inside the bar. I was left behind as i got late reaching there. When i tried to entered into Soho, The person who stands in front of gate stopped me. I tried to know the reason but he was very arrpgant replying anything to me. Finally i text to my friend inside and he had to come out.In between he allowed all other people with no questions asked. We requested many times but he did not get buzz. He did not allow me and same time he did not share the reason for his decision. I was shocked and humiliated totally when he allowed atleast 30 to 40 people in front of me without any questions asked. Just by looking at his face.

Last month too i had a similar experience, when i visited soho bar with one of my indian friends on one saturday night, the same things happend. We both just ignored last time assuming he might have some thing in mind but when he repeated same thing again today, I felt very distrubing.

I tried to know the rule which he may have been motivated him to stopped me but i did not conculde any reason. I am 30 years old. I was well party dressed with decent look. I tried to show him the ID card but he denied.

I can not change the bad experience which is already happend in past with me but at least i can share my experice with people so you can take best decisions. thanks
